D.A.G.Auxiliary lighting is a wiring job as much as a lighting job. Beam pattern, mounting position and switching are chosen for how and where the vehicle is driven.
Long-range spot, spread, combination or work light — the pattern is chosen for the actual use, whether that is dirt-road touring, farm work or camp lighting.
Bar, roof, bumper or A-pillar mounting changes glare, bonnet reflection and wind noise. Position is agreed before drilling anything.
Every auxiliary light is wired with the correct gauge cable, relay or driver and its own fusing, routed and secured away from heat and moving parts.
Driving lights are switched so they can only operate with main beam, using a factory-look switch position where the vehicle allows it.
Total auxiliary lighting draw is checked against the vehicle's charging and battery system, especially when camp and work lighting run with the engine off.
Connectors, glands and looms are sealed for corrugation, dust and water crossings rather than left as workshop-neat but fragile joins.
Model, bar or rack already on the vehicle and existing auxiliary loads are recorded, because they decide the mounting options and the spare capacity we have to work with.
Positions are marked and agreed with you on the vehicle before anything is drilled, so glare, bonnet reflection and wind noise are dealt with up front.
Lights are mounted to the bar, roof, bumper or A-pillar using the correct brackets and hardware for that position.
Each circuit is run in the correct cable gauge with its own relay or driver and fusing, routed away from heat and moving parts and secured along the way.
Driving lights are wired so they can only operate with main beam, using a factory-look switch position where the vehicle allows it.
Connectors and entry points are sealed, the circuits are tested with the engine running and off, and the switching is shown to you at handover.

A practical bench demonstration of the difference between lumens and lux. Using a 37 W fixture producing a constant 4,100 lumens, removing the reflector drops the measured lux at two metres from roughly 1,400 to 60 — the same light output, the same power draw, a completely different result on the surface you are trying to see.
Spotlights generally give better long-range distance; a bar gives more spread and closer fill. Many touring vehicles run a combination, which we plan around your bar and bonnet line.
No. Driving lights are wired to work with main beam only, and are switched off when you dip for oncoming traffic.
Modern LED lighting draws far less than older halogen equipment, but total load is still calculated with everything else fitted before we sign off the install.
Yes — replacement headlamps and globe upgrades are available for selected vehicles, and are often the better first step before adding auxiliary lights.
Workshop time depends on the vehicle, the exact products and whether supporting parts are required. We confirm the booking length in writing with the quote before the vehicle comes in.
